Are We Really Preparing Our Children For Future Success?

I came across a thought provoking video this morning and felt a strong urge to share it with the world. I have not checked the statistics behind it, but it is worth its 5 minutes of your time if only to activate a more serious look at the future of our children.

This video is self explanatory. If anything, it is too much information. So, I have selected some slides and included them in this blog as a way to highlight particularly relevant and important information.

How are you feeling about these slides? What are your thoughts?

  1. yup. we're slipping behind. Maybe it's all the nintendo DS games . or too much texting, not enough real communicating.

  2. All of the above, Sandra, and so much more. This problem is bigger than the kids, families, and schools' individual efforts, it is a problem that the entire country needs to handle.

  3. I think we have a host of priority issues. The things we seem to value (and therefore dedicate both time and funding to) are often not the things that make life better. Not in the short term and not over the long haul. We're paying for it now and our kids will pay even more dearly.
